I just opened my store using Tomatocart, and right now I don't have a lot (any ) customers, so the website's speed is quite good.

I'm hosted by OVH on their lowest servers for now. But before I even think about upgrading my plan, I would like to know where your shops are hosted:

Who is your host?
Are you of it?
What is your hosting plan? Dedicated server, mutual etc etc?
How does it support your shop?
How many people visit your site every day?

The aim of this topic is to provide people with information about the server usage of tomatocart, in order to choose the good service and not to pay for a dedicated server when one is not needed.

So I'm gonna start.

I'm hosted by OVH on their lowest mutual hosting solution. So far I have between 5 and 20 people coming a day and google webmaster tools rates my website as fast.

This is a good question. Even though TomatoCart has used many moden technology such as RIA framework but the hosting plan requirement is reallly low. The minimum server requirement for TomatoCart is PHP 5.1.6 and MySQL 5.1. Most of the hosting plan should meet this requirement. The cost will be around 3 euro to 10 euro per month.

Until now TomatoCart Team haven't do any detailed performance testing or stress testing yet. But we will do that later and we will improve TomatoCart's architecture to support more advanced server enviroment such as cluster server.

First I chose TMDhosting to host my TomatoCart website. Support was relatively quick, but generally very unhelpful. At first it seemed cheap, easy, and great. I had some great luck growing traffic, but in my third month I was becoming aware of the site being down far too often. The server went down and customer service acted like they had never heard of what I was talking about!

To get rid of my problems I finally transferred my website to BlueHost . I have been with BlueHost for almost 2 years. I have never had an issue that was not resolved promptly and courteously. Support tickets have always been answered quickly and my issues resolved in a timely manner.

I am using BlueHost and getting more and more traffic without server goes down. I recommend this web host to all you guys. You never get any cheats like many other web hosting services specially in server and technical support.

Im now with Versio. Its a dutch webhosting service, bought my domain name there too. Support is great and the price is unbelievable. 12 euro each YEAR. Tomatocart runs fine on it and i get around 18 viewers at my site a day. I find it a reasonable amount because my shop has just begun

i have 2 colocated servers and some domains. but at the moment i have the servers at home. Have them in use for something else at the moment I work for an internet provider, but don't want to name the business, because tomatocart is just a hobby for me.
If your website goes down because of too much traffic? sorry, dont see that happen, its more because you're probably on a shared server with 200 or more sites. and the apache server is having a hard time processing all the sites on it. because of low memory or huge load of cpu.

You pay less, you get less. You can't sit on the first row for 10cents.

Sofar i have tested on a linux server with Plesk as control panel. Pumped it full with about 150 tomatocart installs. even though it was a local setup. it runs smoothly.

Tomatocart is a light package. so i don't see any problems for it.

one advise for finding hosting: watch out when they talk about FUP data traffic. It doesn't mean unlimited traffic.
