hello to the complete dev team!
at first i have to say: i did never before wrote in any forum like this.
i was searching now for over one year to find a good OS shop-system for me and my clients. currently i´am using joomla with virtuemart but its not the end solution, if i need only a shop and no more cms and community functions. so i was trying out so many systems, e.g. opencard, oscommerce, zencart... and some more, i have never heard before ... and after again...
just before a few days i finally found your page...

after playing around with tomato cart for a few days, i was sure that the quest to find the right shop-system for me is over! Its an absolutely fantastic work! i´am so excited about the admin panel! its a completely new and fine impression to administrate a shop with "multitasking"...
the system is easy and fast to understand and it takes not long to feel home : ) great, great, great!
everything you created in this project was a direct hit!
BUT:
there are some functions i really miss and a few suggestions i have to make... its very late and there is maybe not enough time left, to change some of these things... but i have to tell them. that´s why, i decided to register in your forum. so please forgive my bad English... I'm just trying : )
1. i can not find a option to set a max number of orders for a product. if i sell a virtual product or a download-able product, then i don't want, that the customer can buy more than 1 of this. additionally i want to set a default for new products.
so if i was to blind to find, please help me to see. if this is not possible - this could be the only reason to prohibit me from using this cart... so please, tell me that there is a way!
2. there should be one more column in the products-list (backend) with the date/time of adding. when i have 1000+ products i want to sort them by date. the same at the frontend: user of the shop page should have the possibility to sort products by time / price / size... and i want to set a sort-default in the backend.
and...
3. what a bout a product SKU (a item number this is generally missed) with one more sortable column in the products list? i don't need it for my self, but some clients will hardly miss it!
4. still in the products-list in backend: even one more column please
, to set a product published / unpublished (e.g. in the Article Categories list is this option i mean) by one click.
5. again the product-list in backend: at the bottom of that window, there are the buttons [ + Ad ] and [ x Delete ] to edit the selected products. think there is enough place fore some more functions e.g.:
[ Move to... ]
...a linked popup where u can move selected products to another category.
important if i want to move the products of a month in an
archive (especially for downloads a needful tool)
[ publish ] / [ unpublish ]
...nothing more to say about, i think
6. odds and sods: for me as designer the image generation of thumbs and so on is horror! i will hack this on my own, but i think its not the best way making pictures fitting in a rectangle by drawing white border (background) around. think its better to re-size them by original dimensions, and output them in a < div >. then the user can edit the background color of the div or even use it transparent.
i want it transparent (and i will set the width: auto;). so i will have a nice thumb-list in one height and flex width... that's the way i like it
...ok. i think that's it.
all other experience were absolutely mind-blowing great. i think its a great idea to handle backend with a desktop and multitasking. the most of my clients will learn and understood it in a short time and this means a little less work for me.
keep on hanging in! this is going to be the best shop-system ever, i know
