TomatoCart - New Generation Open Source eCommerce

I love this program - it's so user friendly and I'm able to accomplish everything I want by following the well written instructions. Until now... I am not a programmer and do not understand programming language. I like to follow instructions and make wonderful things happen. I want to upgrade from V1.0 to V1.0.1. I followed the installation instructions and it wiped out all my files, databases, products, etc. so, in effect, I was starting fresh with blank pages. I did not want this. I wanted the new version to merge with my existing data and just make a more wonderful website. I am sure I missed something, but after searching through all the user manuals and forum topics I cannot find the answer. What have I done wrong?

I also want to know if we will be able to upgrade the cart with future version through the admin panel. Please advise

The update to v1.0.1 is just files update and no database changes. Because of this you can easily update the version using 2 methods :

• Using the diff files provided by the tomatocart team (www.tomatocart.com/downloads/diff-files.html). This needs a little bit of knowledge of svn and patch


• You can download the new release and copy all files over the existing files (don't forget to backup ), al your storel data is stored in the database, so you don't loose anything.

If there are any question just ask I don't know if the team will provide automatically update trough the admin panel in the future.
