Automated Install? 1 Year, 6 Months ago Karma: 1
Is there a way to automate the install scripts? I'd like to be able to deploy a sizable number of installations and don't want to click through and fill out the installation pages for each separate install.

You can write a bash script (linux) or bat file (windows) to do this. And this script takes the database user, password, name and shop physical location etc as the input parameter. In this script, copy source file to destination; create database and user, update the configuration options in the database etc.

I assume I should execute install\tomatocart.sql. Do I need to make any changes to that file for different databases or can I run that against each DB?

During installation several tasks are involved:

1. Execute the install\tomatocart.sql script
2. Insert configuration options such as store name and store owner etc. (you will find it in install\templates\pages\step_6.php)
3. create configure.php file and config.php file for piwik
4. create administrator for administation panel
5. give write access right to directories
6. if you want to increase the secure of admin panel, you can rename the admin folder and change the DIR_FS_ADMIN constants in the configure.php file

I would also like to do an automated install but I would like to copy from another tomato cart that I have everything configured the way I want. I tried to do this and it sort of seems to work but not exactly. I copied the files and changed the paths and database name in the configuration file in the includes directory. It appears like it is using the new data base but the problem I have is I can not log in. The username and password are correct (it does not give me username and password do not match error). What happens is after clicking the log in button there is a quick flash on the screen. It looks like some sort of tomato cart logo or something but I can not really tell because it happens so fast. I'm assuming that there is some other file(s) I have to make changes to before it will let me login.

Currently I have less than a dozen of these I would like to do this to. In the future however I am anticipating I will be doing many times this amount. Therefor it would be extremly nice to have this all automated. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
