I've uploaded sample files for my downloadable products but get a '404' error when trying to open. I can't delete the files either. Anyone else figure this out?

How did you upload the files? How do you try to delete them? Admin or ftp? can you pass the link of the 404page (just the route is enough - domain name isn't needed)

Within the admin, downloadable > data = there is a box to upload files and beneath is box for uploading sample file. In the first box I upload pdf and epub. In the second - sample file - I've tried uploading jpg, bmp, gif, txt, doc, and nothing works - keep getting the 404 error. I can't open the pdf (from the first box) which is understandable seeing as how they are offered for sale and not free peeks. There are no instructions on how to delete sample files. I have no idea what you said (non tekkie here) re passing the link etc.
