This article lists a number of buttons frequently installed in various modules in the administration tool. Here their function and operation are explained in detail and hence no more stated in subcategory articles.
- Add
To add a new entry, click the Add button in the toolbar. Thereafter comes a new entry editing page. It may include:
- Status
Status reference differs in different modules, status of publishing (as in Content>Articles) or status of enablement (as in Dashboard>New Customers).
It may appear in the listing page of a module or in the editing page of one entry of the module. Sometimes status is editable in both places.
In the listing page of a module, it is presented as a green light and a red light in the column form. Click the green light to allow, publishing for example, while clicking the red one not to allow. A Success window will present itself in the down-right corner of the backend page, telling "The action was successfully performed."
In the editing page of one entry of the module, status presents itself as an alternative of Yes or No. Select one accordingly. - Sort order
Input the sort order which describes in what order the entry will be displayed in the administration tool.
The sorting is done with the larger number representing the lower of the displayed list thus the 0-value is placed at the top. Ties are sorted alphabetically.
If sort order is missed, the system gives the default value of 0. - Description
The system has installed languages of Deutsch and English. Some fields require descriptions in EACH language. If any new language packs are added, that field will need to get text for that new language.
Besides there is always a listing of editing tools accessible.
Tag and Keywords are available sometimes. Tag gives an efficient way to find the entry in various sorts and is usually of a small quantity. Keywords tell directly the important information the entry is about to convey and is unlimited in quantity. - Set as default
If the selected entry isn't set as the default, this box will appear.
To set it as the default, check "Set as Default". - Required fields
Some fields in the editing page are required while others are not. Each of the required is marked in a red frame, telling “this field is required” when pointing to it.
- Install/ Uninstall
The module entry with a red "uninstall graphic tool" has already been installed while that with a green "install graphic tool" has not.
To install one, click the green "install graphic tool" in the row. The green "install graphic tool" will turn red into the "uninstall graphic tool" and the gray "edit graphic tool" gets colored very soon. Meanwhile a "Success" window, which is similar to that mentioned above in the Delete part, comes out.
To uninstall, click the red "uninstall graphic tool" instead. Then a Verifying window will present itself asking to verify the uninstallation. Select "Yes", and a "Success" window will present itself. Select "No", and the entry remains the same as undeleted. - Edit
To edit an existing entry, click the "edit graphic tool" in the row. Refer to the Add part above to change detailed information.
However, not all the entries are editable. For some requiring installment, uninstalled ones are not editable. Installed ones with a colored "edit graphic tool" are editable while those with a gray one are not. - Delete
If the target entry is set as default, it can’t be deleted. You must set another one as default and then remove the target one.
To remove a single entry, select it and click the "delete graphic tool" in the row.
To remove one or several, select one by one or and click "Delete" in the tool bar.
To remove all, select the module title in the column header (of course you may select one by one too) and click "Delete" in the tool bar.
After the deleting action, the verifying window will present itself asking to verify the deletion. Select "Yes" and a "Success" window will present itself in the down-right corner of the backend page, telling "The action was successfully performed." Select "No", and the entry remains the same as undeleted.
Nevertheless, some entries are undeletable, to be explained in the right articles. - Refresh
To update data in the present page if needed, click "Refresh" in the tool bar. - Search
To search for something in the module, input the title information in the combo box in the tool bar and click the "search graphic tool".
There may be a parent category to choose.
Or sometimes to search for something during a certain period of time, click the "date graphic tool" next to the "Start Date" and "End Date", select a special time and click the "search graphic tool". - Hide/Display columns
To hide or display some column, click the triangle shown when pointing at a specific column header and select under "Columns". At least one column must be presented. - Sort
To list the entries in ascending or descending order, click the triangle and select. - Pagination
You can turn a page, decide the displaying number of each page, and see current entry number and the total in the page bar.
